If only the world had more Jiminy Crickets. While I know the actual Jiminy Cricket character is fiction, I have always tried to teach my kids to follow their inner Jiminy. Gepetto

Even before becoming a parent, there was something about Gepetto that tugged at my heart strings. Pinocchio made me very upset when he ran off both times. The fear and terror Gepetto felt when Pinocchio didn't come home is every parent's worst nightmare. Trust me, I've been there. Anyone that has played with dolls has often wished that they could truly come true. This is the story of Pinocchio. Pinocchio was a wooden puppet and through the power of faith and magic, Gepetto, the puppet master, was able to get his wish of Pinocchio becoming a real boy so he could have a son. The Pinocchio Graphgan starts today and the patterns will be released almost on a weekly basis. Pinocchio Graphgan Schedule

I don't know about anyone else, but Pinocchio has always been one of my favorites. It taught me that there are real consequences to our actions and to never lie, because "a lie keeps growing and growing until it is as plain as the nose on your face" (Blue Fairy). This always scared me since I already have a big nose. haha.

I am very excited to announce that the Pinocchio graphgan will officiall start on 10/1 with the release of the Title block. Most blocks will be release on a weekly basis on monday morning at 7:00 am Mountain Standard Time (even though I am now in Tennessee I cannot figure out how to change that setting. haha). After Pinocchio, we will do Cinderella, Dumbo, then Sleeping Beauty. I hope you enjoy these afghans as much as I am enjoying making the graphs.

Pinocchio Graphgan

For almost a year I have been working on the patterns for the next cal. Because I hadn’t finished Snow White I didn’t want to share any information on it. My life has been in such a constant state of change that I wasn’t able to put the focus into my work like I wanted to. Now that things are starting to settle down I have been able to get stuff done. Starting October 1, we will be starting a Pinocchio graphgan cal. It is a 7 block afghan and should be finished by December 1. Look for updates and new posts with the yarn information this week some time.

Snow White Title Graph

"Remember you're the one who can fill the world with Sunshine" ~ Snow White

This is the 11th and final block in the Snow White and the Seven Dewarfs Afghan Crochet-a-long (CAL). It is based on the original artwork for the movie Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs which was released in 1937. It is the story, of a young princess, who is being hunted by her evil step-mother because of her (Snow White's) beauty. Snow finds refuge in a small cabin that is the home to 7 little men, the Dwarfs. Happy, Sleepy, Doc, Grumpy, Bashful, Sneezy and Dopey. She cooks, cleans, and mothers these little men. Before she had to go into exile, she met her future prince. The queen eventually finds her and places her under a sleeping/death spell that the prince later breaks with true loves kiss.

This movie is the ultimate "Chick Flick". Finding love at first sight, being rescued, ahhh...While the animation is very amaturish by today's standards, by 1937 standards, it was incredible! Drawing and animating, people, animals, and making the plants come alive, holy cow!

For those that are ultimate Disney fans, this afghan is a must have. Stay tuned for more incredible Disney graphs.

Every Princess needs to remember, her prince will come, maybe today, maybe tomorrow. No matter what, do not forget, he will come. This block is special to me because in my life, I thought my prince would have come a very long time ago, but instead, he arrived, when I needed him most, just a short year and a half ago. My prince truly did come.

Evil Queen Ravenna

She is evil, talks to mirrors, and can turn herself into a hag, that's right, it's the Evil Queen Ravenna. I actually never knew her name until I started researching for this graph. haha. She is now ready to be added to the afghan, and watch out, she may just put you in a forever sleep....

Sneezy Dwarf

Snow White crochet-a-long

Happy almost Halloween!!! Today I am pleased to announce the beginning of the next crochet-a-long (cal). Earlier in the year I had decided that I wanted to feature many of the wonderful Disney movies individually in an afghan. With so many wonderful and beloved movies out there deciding where to start on this massive journey was a challenge. My solution...start at the beginning. So today I am officially announcing the year of Disney. Well, it will be slightly more than 1 year. I hope you all can keep up because we are going to be moving very quickly through these patterns (I hope I can keep up with the pace too. 😝) We will be starting with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. This CAL will begin on 11/1....4 short days from now. There are a total of 11 graphs that will be released over the course of the month of November. The order is as follows:
