So with my life as hectic as it is, I'm not exactly sure when I will have the chance to put the rest of my harry potter graphs into patterns, so I have decided to just share the graphs as is, and when I get a chance to make the patterns pretty and such I will go ahead and update. So I hope this helps those that have been anxiously awaiting my graphs. Each of these graphs are 30x30 and the row counts are set up for corner to corner.

Horcrux Block Pattern
"Well, you split your soul, you see, and hide part of it in an object outside the body. Then, even if one’s body is attacked or destroyed, one cannot die, for part of the soul remains earthbound and undamaged. But of course, existence in such a form . . ." ~ Slughorn (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince)

Can you imagine... being immortal? Having your soul split into pieces... the pain, and torment that could cause? I can't imagine it. I guess I just don't have the guts to live on forever... but then again, I also am not one for world domination. In any case, that evil villan we all love to hate did it. Most people that attempted to create a horcrux could only do it one time, but not him... not "He Who Must Not Be Named". Nope, this dude had guts, and not just some wimpy guts, he had massive room filling guts, that allowed him to split his soul not once, not twice, not even thrice (three times), but SIX times. Yes, that's right! Six!!!!! Ok, so actually he did it seven times, but he didn't mean to create the last horcrux. That was an accident. When he tried to kill Harry, and his plan failed, he accidently created a horcrux in Harry.... Not exactly sure how it happened, but hey, I don't need to know. :-p.
So, as you can see from the above picture there are only 6 horcrux's shown and didn't I just mention that he split his soul into 7 pieces? Well, the reason that there isn't a 7th pattern showing with these 6 is because #7 is Harry... again mentioned above. I have already released the Harry pattern so I felt it was kind of redundant to do it again... Make sense? Quiz time... How many horcrux's???
SEVEN!!!! Good job, now get your hooks and yarn out and start crocheting these amazing blocks.
***Just a quick note...Normally when I release a pattern I have both a 25x25 and 30x30 block, but to get more patterns out to the public quicker I will only be releasing the graphs in size 30x30. Many I already have smaller and eventually I will update the pdf, but for now, I hope this at least helps. ***

Rubeus Hagrid Block
“I am what I am, an’ I’m not ashamed. 'Never be ashamed,’ my ol’ dad used ter say, ‘there’s some who’ll hold it against you, but they’re not worth botherin’ with" ~ Rubeus Hagrid
Hagrid is one of those characters that you love to love. He is the gentle giant, protector and friend of Harry Potter. He is a fierce defender of his friends and loved ones, and heaven forbid you cross him, you might just end up with a rat's tail. I hope you enjoy making the Hagrid block as much as I did.

Professor Albus Dumbledore Graph
"It is our choices that show us what we truly are far more than our abilities" ~ Albus Dumbledore
Professor Dumbledore has always been one of my favorite characters in the Harry Potter series. From the very beginning, you could tell that he truly loved young Harry. He treated Harry like a son, and as a father figure, he made choices that were sometimes great, sometimes not so great, just like any parent. **Spoiler** When he died, it nearly broke my heart. I hope you enjoy this graph.
**Note** From this point on, the pattern will no longer feature the finished product that the other patterns have. I will eventually update with the a picture of the finished product. I decided to forgo waiting for the finished product so I can get the graphs out quicker for those that have been patiently waiting.

Harry Potter Block
"Pity you can't attach an extra arm to yours, Malfoy. Then it could catch the snitch for you."
~Harry Potter
Harry Potter, The Boy Who Lived. The boy that was targeted for death, but through his mother’s love survived and became one of the most famous wizards in the Wizarding World.
He was the boy that slept in the closet under the stairs; he could talk to snakes; who was one of the youngest Quidditch seekers; who battled one of the greatest evils the world had ever known; who was loved so much by his parents that they gave their lives for him; who also gave his own life for his friends and family, his name is Harry Potter.
Ever since J.K. Rowling published Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone the world has been in love with Harry. A boy that experienced one of the most tragic losses one can face, the death of his parents, and grew up in a home that despised him, yet the boy still had a kind an generous heart. He faced trolls, evil teachers, curses, and one of the most vile of men imaginable to conquer all.
With that, I give you the Harry Potter Block. I hope you enjoy it.

Professor Minerva McGonagall
She’s a woman, she’s a cat…she’s the amazing Professor Minerva McGonagall!
After the death of Harry Potter’s parents, Professor McGonagall took on a substitute mother roll for Harry, whether or not he liked it. She took on a protector roll as the Griffindor House "Mother" (if you will). She encouraged Harry to greatness by allowing him to join the house Quidditch team, she scolded Harry (and his friends) when they needed it, such as when they were late to class or battled the troll alone, she fought like a mother bear to protect Harry from the evils that entered his life from Harry's horrible family, to the evil Professor Umbridge; and she loved him as a mother loves her child. Her quick wit, and fiesty temper made her one of my favorite characters.

Marvolo Gaunt's Ring - Horcrux #2
~That ring carried a curse of extraordinary power, to contain it is all we can hope for; I have trapped the curse in one hand for the time being --" --Severus Snape
Marvolo Gaunt was Tom Riddle's maternal grandfather. In trying to make himself invincible Tom placed a powerful curse on the ring. Unbeknownst to Tom, the stone in the ring was also known as the ressurection stone. Dumbledore later found the ring, and was tempted and put on the ring, which was the true reason that he died. Dumbledore was able to crack the stone with the sword of Griffindor and break the curse.

Platform 9 3/4
Harry: Excuse me sir, can you tell me where I might find Platform Nine and Three-Quarters?
Station Guard: Nine and Three-Quarters? Think you're being funny do ya? [muttering to himself]
Station Guard: Nine and Three-Quarters!
The Platform 9 3/4 was such an iconic place for Harry. 1st, the platform was the "door" that led Harry to the wizarding world where he would learn about him, his parents, magic, and quidditch. 2nd, The platform was where Harry met his best friend Ron Weasley and they would experience the unimaginable.

Lightning Bolt Block
"Never be ashamed of a scar, it simply means you were stronger than what tried to hurt you"
~ Unknown
In the wizarding world, there is one, who defied all the odds, one that was protected from some of the most powerful magic imaginable by his mother's love, who survived when no one else did, who was the chosen one... his name is Harry Potter. After an attack by a very powerful wizard, he was left with a very identifiable mark, a lightning bolt scar. In my afghan I am choosing to include this scar and I am sharing the pattern. There are two sizes of block patterns, a 30x30 block and a 25x25 block. The pattern includes a graph for both sizes, along with written instructions for both blocks for those that do not like to use the graph. I would love to see your work.

Hogwarts Crest
"We must all face the choice between what is right and what is good " ~ Albus Dumbledore
As I mentioned before, I joined the amazing Harry Potter Crochet-along designed by the amazing Alexandra from twoheartscrochet.com. I knew immediately that I had to join this crochet-along. The original crest had a black background, but when I was looking at the graph, I realized that I loved the look of the black border on the outside of the crest. So my only real question was, what color should I do the crest on? I saw some amazing work where people had used alternate colors, such as black but then putting a white border on it, around the outside black border, black, gray and even a purple background. When I saw the gray background I knew that was the perfect fit for me. The next question was, which crest should I do, the detailed one below, or the simple version without the animals...I'm a glutton for punishment, so I went with the detailed version.

Here is a picture of my finished product. I still have to weave the ends in. I am working on that. I will update the picture when I get the ends fixed.
The picture doesn't do just to the size of this thing. It is HUGE! I did my crest in the double crochet corner to corner stitch. I wanted the crest to be the focal point of the afghan and guess what?!?!?! it truly is. If I had to do it all over again, I would have done the block in the mini corner to corner which uses the half-double crochet or a single crochet from side to side. But I still love how it looks.

Harry Potter Graph Afghan, aka Graphgan
As promised, today is the start of my Harry Potter Afghan. This afghan is comprised of 37 separate blocks. Most of these blocks I have created, but there are a few blocks that were created by someone else that I modified, and then some that were created by another blogger completely. For the blocks that were created by the other blogger, I will link back to her website. I will also give credit where credit is due to the those that inspired my creation.
This project started because another blogger from Twoheartscrochet.com started a Harry Potter Crochet-along. The project is comprised of 13 blocks, 1 large crest, and 12 surrounding blocks. My whole intention was to follow her patterns and recreate her afghan, but I have been surrounded by a lot of creative juices. Many in the crochet-along started creating such amazing work I knew I had to also give it a shot. There were way too many wonderful ideas and not enough space, so I decided to make my afghan unique. Instead of doing 12 individual blocks around the crest, I decided to do only the crest and the four corner blocks in a corner-to-corner stitch in double crochet, and the remaining blocks will be completed in single crochet, so it will take 4 blocks to fill the larger blocks. I am pretty pleased with my progress. I found both the Harry Potter banner and the broom banner on Pinterest, but alas I can no longer locate the broom banner website. As I complete each phase of this project I will attach a PDF link for anyone wanting to use my graphs. I hope you enjoy making this afghan as much as I am enjoying it.

***Update*** So I ran into a problem with some of my graphs. I found that some of the smaller graphs did not look as good as I would have liked when crocheted in the single-crochet stitch like I had planned, so I modified my original layout back to the original layout, the crest in the middle with 12 blocks surrounding it. I don't like it nearly as much as I liked my original idea, but alas, whatcha gonna do about. With my time constraints (the afghan will be donated to the silent auction for my family reunion) I decided 12 additional blocks were a lot easier to accomplish than 37. LOL. I do still plan on making this massive afghan just as it is... well maybe with a few tweaks, but pretty close. Here's the new layout that I am working on.
*** Note *** I am combining some of the graphs together into a single PDF to get the graphs out quicker. I will eventually update with each graph link. But until then, I hope this helps.
